Advanced Extension Awards (AEAs)
Advanced Extension Awards (AEAs) were introduced by the government in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in 2002. They are designed to challenge the most able advanced level (A level) students and help to distinguish between them in subjects where there are a lot of A grades given.
The awards form part of the National Qualifications Framework.
