Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is a new award for teachers in the learning and skills sector, and covers both taught and practical skills.
There are two stages to the QTLS qualification. The first stage is an initial 'passport to teaching' module. The second stage is full teacher training, which would typically take up to five years to complete.
QTLS was introduced in full from September 2007.
