Project start: 15/09/08
Project end: 31/12/10
ESF funding received: £1,140,000
Project aim:
The aims of this project are: to raise aspiration and participation levels of employees within the workforce in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, who, as members of minority groups, face multiple barriers to accessing education and employment opportunities, and; to increase the awareness of employers of the needs of the target groups. The project will provide three flexible funds:
Learner Support Fund which will deliver financial assistance to individuals to assist in overcoming barriers faced in accessing learning to improve employment prospects and provide support packages which follow individual routeways and employment
Equality and Diversity Training to provide Equality and Diversity information to employers about legal and moral responsibilities to employees and to provide information to front line staff to encourage them to look at services and the way they are provided
This Fund will also support staff in enabling them to understand the issues faced by work colleagues from diverse communities.
Delegated Fund which will support workplace focused positive action projects: new activities and further developing pilots that cannot be supported through mainstream funding.
