Provider software
Several software packages are made freely available to providers to assist with the data collection process, responsibility for managing several of these packages nows lies with the Data Service, whilst the remainder continue to be the responsibility of the LSC:
Provider Software - Data Service
- Learning Aim Database (LAD)
An online application that contains information about all LSC-recognised learning aims. It has search and download facilities. A download of the LAD is required for use with the LIS.
- Learner Information Suite (LIS)
Software used by providers to validate ILR data, and produce reports, before transmitting it to the LSC via the provider extranet
Provider Software - LSC
- Data Self-assessment Toolkit (DSAT)
Software that analyses data for both FE and WBL using data exported from the Learner Information Suite (LIS). For WBL, the DSAT includes information from the provider funding report (PFR).
- Demand-Led Calculator (DLC)
Supports the implementation of a new demand-led funding methodology. It enables providers to view their 2006/07 data in the format and language of the new methodology.
- Planning and Modelling (PaM) system
A software application designed for use by providers and LSC staff, which supports the planning, commissioning and funding discussions held annually with providers.
