Data Self-Assessment Toolkit (DSAT)
The Data Self-assessment Toolkit (DSAT) analyses data for both FE and WBL using data exported from the Learner Information Suite (LIS). For WBL, the DSAT includes information from the provider funding report (PFR). The DSAT produces reports on these data. The DSAT replaces previous years' computer-assisted audit techniques software (CAATs).
The DSAT has been designed to:
- assist funding auditors in the audit of colleges' final funding claims and ILR data, for colleges still undergoing the funding audit
- provide colleges with a toolkit to enable them to perform their own analysis, whether or not the college will receive a funding audit
- give WBL providers data and reports to enable them to perform their own analysis and relate this to the PFR.
Software and Documentation
DSAT training workshops
As part of the ongoing promotion of good practice over data quality, and to help ensure that providers can fully utilise the DSAT software, the LSC is currently organising three DSAT Training Workshops open to all providers.
The workshops will be aimed at new practitioners within organisations who will be using the DSATs for the first time, such as ILR administrators or MIS Managers. The workshops will provide an introduction to the essential LSC software (Learning Information Suite, the concepts of DSAT software, an overview of DSAT reports, best practice use and for those who wish to stay at the end of the event an opportunity to process your own data.
Full details are in the document below which has been amended since it was first issued on March 16th. A correction has been made to the date of the Leeds workshop:
