Data Self-Assessment Toolkit (DSAT)
The Data Self-assessment Toolkit (DSAT) analyses data for both FE and WBL using data exported from the Learner Information Suite (LIS). For WBL, the DSAT includes information from the provider funding report (PFR). The DSAT produces reports on these data. The DSAT replaces previous years' computer-assisted audit techniques software (CAATs).
The DSAT has been designed to:
- assist funding auditors in the audit of colleges' final funding claims and ILR data, for colleges still undergoing the funding audit
- provide colleges with a toolkit to enable them to perform their own analysis, whether or not the college will receive a funding audit
- give WBL providers data and reports to enable them to perform their own analysis and relate this to the PFR.

DSAT training workshops
As part of the ongoing promotion of good practice around data quality, and to help ensure that providers can fully utilise the DSAT software, the LSC is currently organising a series of DSAT Training Workshops open to providers that are in receipt of Work Based Learning and Train to Gain funding.
