Business Cycle Governance
The LSC is undertaking a review of its Governance Structure, including the membership and terms of reference of LSC Board’s. The status of working groups is also being assessed and some will continue, but only by agreement of the new Boards.
One significant change is the disbanding of the Implementation Group. The work which was undertaken by this Group will be transferred to another Board and details will be published here once agreed.
The new Governance structure will continue to support the effective deployment of the Business Cycle, and this page will continue to enable colleagues to understand how the new structure underpins the Business Cycle. It will also continue to provide access to key documents which will update you on the progress we are making in delivering the Business Cycle 07/08 for academic year 08/09.
Management Group Management Group provides LSC strategic planning, co-ordination and leadership through the economic, efficient and effective management of the LSC. It monitors and reviews the work of the Change Board through progress reports submitted to each meeting. Mark Haysom holds the Chair of the Change Board to account on delivery under the Scheme of Delegation.
Change Board
The primary role of the Change Board is to deliver a more integrated approach to the way in which it leads and delivers business change across the organisation. This will ensure a more coherent cross-functional approach to the development of policy nationally, as well as far greater consistency in the delivery of practice regionally.
Implementation Group
Following a review of the Governance Structure, the Change Board’s remit will no longer require the Implementation Group as a working group in its current format. This Group is therefore disbanded.
External Advisory Group
The role of the External Advisory Group is to communicate the benefit of change across the sector and provide advice to the LSC Management Group, through the Change Board, on the LSC’s Change Programme to ensure that any arrangements affecting the post-16 education sector are discussed.
Membership of the Group includes representatives from the post-16 sector, Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills and heads of organisations nominated by each LSC Regional Director including: private training providers, providers of further education and work based learning, charitable and voluntary organisations and former external institutions.
Minutes from External Advisory Group meetings are available for you to view.
