Quality Assurance and Intervention
The remit of the Quality Assurance and Intervention team is to fulfil the LSC's statutory responsibility for assuring the quality of provision it purchases. The team works closely with external stakeholders, such as Ofsted and LSIS, in developing and implementing strategies to improve provider performance and achievement, and eliminate underperformance from LSC-funded programmes.

The LSC Statutory Intervention Policy

The Further Education and Training Act 2007 adds an additional clause to the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 to give the LSC powers of intervention in respect of further education corporations. This document focuses specifically on the exercise of these powers. A draft policy document was put out for consultation in January 2008, and responses from this consultation have been considered when comiling the final policy. An analysis of responses from the consultation can be found below.

This report provides the findings from the assessment of the impact of these powers, with particular focus on those who might be discriminated against or disadvantaged, and to assess either adverse or positive implications of this policy.
