Sale of the Carter and Carter group plc - 28 March 2008

A substantial portion of the Carter and Carter Group plc has been sold to Newcastle College and the LSC has agreed for these arrangements to proceed quickly which is good news for all those learners whose training will continue with Newcastle College.

Learners and employers may be worried about those parts of the business that remain unsold and how their training programmes or qualifications may be affected.

The LSC is working urgently with colleges, training providers and the voluntary sector to transfer an estimated 3,000 learners to ensure training courses continue uninterrupted.

We are also working with employers affected by the closure of Carter and Carter to continue their training programmes with new providers

A dedicated helpline 0800 046 6198 is available for all learners and employers concerned or affected by the changes to the Carter and Carter Group plc.

If your training provider was CBE, NTP, Employability or Quantica your training should continue as normal and you will be contacted very soon by Newcastle College, your existing training provider or the LSC regional contract manager

If your training provider was the Carter and Carter Apprentice Learning Division or Skills Division your training may be affected. The LSC is working with a range of new training providers to ensure training courses continue uninterrupted.

In the coming days your new provider or the LSC may need to contact you or your employer - please contact the helpline and tell us the best way to stay in touch with you. We can then make sure you are sent the necessary information about the future of your training as a matter of urgency.
