FE Success Rates Files

1 The success rate files contain learner success, achievement and retention data for LSC funded FE learning aims.

Purpose

2 The success rate data will be used in inspection and summary spreadsheets and in institution level benchmarking data.

3 The production of the data involves a series of steps from the raw ILR datasets through to the final master files.

4 The following table shows the datasets within the Success Rate Files collection.

Dataset	Description
ILR Learner Dataset	This is part of the Individualised Learner Record (ILR) Collection, used as input to the production of the tri-files
ILR Learning Aim Dataset	This is part of the Individualised Learner Record (ILR) Collection, used as input to the production of the tri-files
Success Rates Tri-files	These are used as source data for the FE Success Rate Methodology
Learning Aims Hierarchy Table	This is an output from the Learning Aim Database (LAD), used as source data for the FE Success Rate Methodology
Basic Skills Lookup Table	This table provides Skills for Life and Basic Skills markers by learning aim reference and is an input to the production of Success Rate data
Institution Lookup Table	This table provides institution and LSC office details by provider number and is an input to the production of Success Rate data
Success Rates Aims Master File	This is an output from the FE Success Rate methodology, which is used for production of the Success Rate Data
Success Rates Demographics Master File	This is an output from the FE Success Rate methodology, which is used for production of the Success Rate Data
