Learner Information Suite 16.02 software

Overview

The Learner Information Suite (LIS) software is a software application which is made available to providers to assist in preparation of ILR data. Version 16.02 processes 2008/09 ILR data and contains functionality for ILR Validation, Funding calculations (Employer Responsive and Learner Responsive) and reports.

Installation

Please note that the LIS installation and uninstallation require the user to be logged in to the PC with Administrator rights.

Note: If LIS 16.01 has not previously been installed on the PC you are using, you will need to use the Postcode Update File below to populate the postcode data required for Employer Responsive funding calculations. To use this file, first install the LIS and ensure it opens normally. Then unzip the postcode file onto your PC, and then start the LIS . Within the LIS, select Options, then the Maintenance tab, and press the "Update Data" button. This will then allow you to select the LIS1602_PostcodeFactorUpdate.mdb file and load the data.

If LIS 16.01 has previously been installed on the PC you are using, the 16.02 installation will automatically uninstall 16.01, but 16.02 will use the same postcode database file as was previously installed by 16.01.

LIS 16.02 requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 to run. If your PC does not have this, you will need to download (from the table below) and install it before running the LIS 16.02 installation.

Patch Release

A patch to version 16.02 was released on 18 December 2008. This includes three extra reports for learner responsive provision, and some other minor changes. The "LIS 16.02.501 Patch software" can be downloaded from the "Software" section below. The installation instructions, and further information on the patch, are contained in the "Release Guide for LIS 16.02 Patch" document in the "Documents" section.

Next Release

We plan to issue a final version of LIS for 2008/09, version 16.03. This is currently planned for release in March 2009.
