Adult Learner Account Calculator
Adult Learner Accounts (ALAs) are currently being trialled in the East Midlands and South East regions during 2007/08 and 2008/09. A new application, the Learner Accounts Management System (LAMS), has been developed to support the trials and enable providers to capture learner details and programme value information. Providers taking part in the pilot can access LAMS via the Provider Gateway. Learners with an Adult Learner Account will be given regular statements to illustrate the full value of learning that they are receiving.
ALAC 2007/08
The Adult Learner Account Calculator (ALAC) enables providers involved in the ALA trials to calculate all ALA programme values based on their 2007/08 data. The figures provided will be a forecast of the value of learning to the learner and not a statement of provider funding. All providers taking part in the pilot should use the ALAC to calculate the value of learning for their ALA learners for entry onto LAMS.
