A number of software packages were made freely available to providers to assist with LSC data collection processes. The web pages for many of these software packages are no longer updated.

Software

Description

CAATs Computer Assisted Audit Techniques software to assist in the audit of colleges' final funding claims and ILR data.  Superceeded by the Data Self-Assessment Toolkit (DSAT) software.

FE Funding Modelling

FE Funding Modelling software allowed providers to highlight potential differences in their FE funding when the funding methodology changed between 2001/02 and 2002/03.

Funding Program

Funding Program software allowed providers to calculate the FE funding generated based on their ISR data for 1999/2000.

HESA Conversion

HESA Conversion software assisted HEIs in the preparation of final funding claims and audit of student numbers, up to 2002/03, by converting data files from HESA into a format suitable for use with the LIS.

ISR Reconciliation Lists

Individualised Staff Record (ISR) Reconciliation Lists software was used to produce reconciliation lists for ISR data up to 2000/01.

ISR Validation

Individualised Staff Record (ISR) Validation software allowed providers to validate ISR data for 1999/2000.

QDB Update Program

The Qualification Database Update Program was used to amend the Qualification Database (QDB) with update files issued by the LSC, in the periods between full releases of the QDB.

Qualification DB

The Qualification Database (QDB) was used to provide details of qualifications offered in FE, for use with early versions of the Learner Information Suite. It was used up to 2002/03 and then superseded by the Learning Aim Database.

SIR validation The SIR Validation software was used up to and including 2005/06, to help prepare staff individualised record (SIR) data.  From 2006/07 this collection is looked after by Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) - software is available from the SIR page of the LLUK website
