DEFINITION
1. Additional learning support (ALS) is any activity that provides direct support for learning to individual learners, over and above that which is normally provided in a standard learning programme that leads to their learning goal.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
2. The need for additional learning support may arise from a learning difficulty and/or disability, or from literacy, numeracy or language support requirements.
3. In the context of the employer-responsive model, ALS is available to learners who have an additional learning or social need, including enhanced monthly payments.
4. ALS also includes Exceptional Learning Support and support for learners with disabilities.
