Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) Take-up
EMA is a weekly payment of £10, £20 or £30 depending upon household income. It is paid directly to young people who stay in learning after reaching statutory leaving age, that is, after the end of their compulsory schooling.
The spreadsheet below details the total number of young people who have received one or more EMA payments during 2004/05, 2005/06, 2006/07 and to date in 2007/08.
The report displays this data at Local Authority (LA) level with aggregations up to Regional and LSC area levels.
