Income Generation

Welcome to the Learning and Skills Council Internet site on fees and income generation.

As we develop and deliver provision in tough economic times, where public investment alone will not be sufficient to deliver the full range of provision, providers need to develop strategies and take action to ensure that employers and individuals contribute to the cost of their learning where they are able to do so.  In order to achieve this aspiration, we need to persuade more employers and individuals to understand the benefits and share the responsibility for investing in skills, and for providers to develop their commercial expertise and acumen.

Increasing fee income can bring huge benefits and rewards to your organisation. A reduced reliance on public funding can lead to greater financial stability and another step on the road towards self-governance and independence. In addition, it allows for greater flexibility and offers the opportunity to support your mission in other areas such as sustaining a broader adult curriculum. We want adult learning to thrive, but in a changing context in which it is supported by a combination of individual, employer and government investment.

This website details a range of training, information, toolkits and support that is available free of charge to your organisation to access and download, that will support your organisation in its journey to generating fees and income.
