Provider Financial Management
We support accountability, assurance and affordability and we deliver value for money.
Provider Financial Management leads the national policy interest in the LSC's financial relationships with providers.
Our key areas of interest are:
- the formal accountabilities the LSC requires of colleges
- the accountability requirements the LSC sets out in its funding guidance to providers
- the assurance policies and processes the LSC has for the use of its own auditors or auditors it commissions
- provision of key tools to regions in performing, monitoring and reporting assurance work, and assessing provider financial health and capital bids
- acting on behalf of the director of finance in reviewing key financial dealings with providers
- the LSC's assessment of provider financial health and bids for capital funding
- the evaluation of whether providers are delivering value for money as demonstrated through shared services, the framework for excellence and efficiency targets
- PFM delivers a significant level of direct assurance for national office budget holders.
