Government Office for the East of England contributes to the achievement of Department for Education and Skills targets by working with local organisations across the East of England to ensure that participation and educational attainment are central to local community strategies and plans.
Government Offices have an important role in helping the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) deliver its education strategy for the next five years and beyond. It focuses on giving children an excellent start in education, enabling young people to equip themselves with life and work skills, and encouraging adults to achieve their full potential through learning.
