Cambridgeshire Learning and Skills Council (LSC) was one of 10 co-financing organisations in the East of England. Our final 2000-2006 plan was worth a total of just over £13.5 Million.

About Us

The LSC in Cambridgeshire became a Co-Financing organisation in 2001. We submitted 3 local ESF Co-Financing Plans to Government Office for East of England. These were tendered under Round 1, Round 2 and Round 4 of ESF Co-financing tendering. These plans have brought over £13 million of ESF Funding into Cambridgeshire and have helped us to support over 20,000 ESF beneficiaries to date through 58 projects.

Plan 1 (Round 1)

Cambridgeshire LSC’s first Co-financing plan ran from January 2002 to December 2003 and was worth just over £2.5 million of ESF funding. Cambridgeshire LSC contracted for activities in 4 measures (1.1, 2.2, 3.1 and 3.2).

The plan supported 12 projects and over 7,200 beneficiaries. Various activities were delivered including vocational guidance, Basic Skills Capacity Building, Health Care Programmes and Management & Supervisory Skills among many others. There was also a representation of various types of providers ranging from small private providers to FE Colleges and Local Authorities.

Plan 2 (Round 2)

Cambridgeshire LSC’s second co-financing plan ran from October 2002 – September 2005 and was worth just over £4.5 million of ESF funding. Cambridgeshire LSC contracted for activities in 11 measures (1.1. 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 5.1).

The plan supported 20 projects and over 4,700 beneficiaries. Various activities were delivered including Voluntary Sector Training Development, Careers Guidance for Adults, Rural Enterprise Development and NVQ’s in Care for over 25’s among many others. There was also a wide representation of various types of providers ranging from small private providers to FE Colleges and Local Authorities.

Plan 3 (Round 4)

Cambridgeshire LSC’s third and current co-financing plan was awarded in July 2004 and ran until March 2008 and was worth just over £6 million of ESF funding. Cambridgeshire LSC contracted for activities in 4 measures (2.1, 2.2, 3.1 and 3.2).

This plan supported 26 projects and targeting over 13,000 beneficiaries. Various activities were delivered including Activities to tackle and reduce the numbers of learners who are NEET (not in education, employment or training), Management Qualifications, Vocational Qualifications, Skills for Life outreach and referrals to improve participation and Skills for Life qualifications, among many others. There was a wide representation of various types of providers ranging from small private providers to FE Colleges and Local Authorities.
