Haverhill 16-19 Competition

The Haverhill 16-19 competition launched by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) Suffolk to improve education and training provision in Haverhill came to a close. A proposal submitted by the Two Counties Learning Trust to establish new Sixth Form provision in the town has been approved by the Learning and Skills Council’s Regional Board. Train to Gain

Train to Gain Infrastructure Funding

The Learning and Skills Council for the East of England is making £175,000 available through the Train to Gain Infrastructure Fund to support providers who have held Train to Gain Type C contracts in 2008-09 to move in to Apprenticeship delivery.

The Learning and Skills Council is launching a public consultation on the proposal received from Thurrock and Basildon College and South East Essex College of Arts and Technology to merge the two colleges into one institution

Economic Downturn – advice and guidance for employers and their employees

It is recognised that the current economic downturn makes it a tough time for businesses both large and small. In supporting employers through these difficult times, the Regional Minister has set up the East of England Regional Economic Forum to ensure public sector agencies and business organisations are working together to address the impact of the economic downturn, providing a wide range of assistance for businesses, individuals and communities.
