Football legend Jack Charlton OBE, is supporting the LSC North East’s CoLaS Awards 2007. By doing so, it is hoped that his own personal success will encourage others to nominate local heroes from around the North East.

Eighteen-year-old Darlington FC footballer Shaun Reay has been nominated for an award by his club for continuing his studies at the same time his football career has started to take off. Striker Shaun, who’s from Boldon, has been put forward for a Sports and Recreation Award in this year’s Celebration of Learning and Skills Awards (CoLaS).

Hollywood came to Wearmouth Bridge in Sunderland this week, as two of the world’s most famous actors, ‘Brad Pitt’ and ‘Angelina Jolie,’ visited the region to launch the Learning and Skills Council’s (LSC) North East Celebration of Learning and Skills Awards (CoLaS) 2007.
