Three of the North East’s best-known organisations have given their backing to the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) North East’s drive to recognise and reward the region’s shining stars in education and skills. Banking giant Barclays Plc, respected arts agency, Arts Council England and the collaborative further education partnership, FE+, have all signed up as sponsors for the LSC North East’s forthcoming Celebration of Learning and Skills (CoLaS) Awards 2007

Eighteen-year-old Darlington FC footballer Shaun Reay has been nominated for an award by his club for continuing his studies at the same time his football career has started to take off. Striker Shaun, who’s from Boldon, has been put forward for a Sports and Recreation Award in this year’s Celebration of Learning and Skills Awards (CoLaS).
