Earn while you learn with Apprenticeships. Getting paid while you learn might sound too good to be true - but as an Apprentice that's exactly what you'll do. If you are a young person wanting to stay in learning and your household income is below a certain level, you could receive up to £30 a week to help with things like books, equipment and travel costs. Education Maintenance Allowance, EMA for short, is for young people studying at Sixth Form (school or college), Further Education college, on a programme led Apprenticeship (where you are not yet employed) or on an e2e programme. Entry to Employment (e2e) is a learning programme for young people who are not yet ready to join an Apprenticeship, go to college or get a job. The programme offers you the opportunity to develop your personal and social skills, try out different work areas and gain qualifications up to NVQ Level 1.
