Emer Clarke

Emer was formerly Director of Area for South Yorkshire. She started her career in HR in the telecommunications industry in Liverpool and then moved to work in FE colleges and the local authority, still in Liverpool. She was subsequently an Assistant Principal at West Cheshire College and Principal of Merthyr Tydfil College in South Wales. Emer joined the Further Education Funding Council (FEFC) at its start as an Inspector of colleges and later established the FEFC's Quality Improvement Unit. In 2001, she transferred to the LSC as Director of Quality Improvement at the National Office in Coventry. Later she moved to South Yorkshire as Director of Learning Programmes and then Director of Area. Emer is a season ticket holder at Manchester United and enjoys walking and cross country skiing in winter.
