John Temple

John was formerly LSC Director of Area for the West of England. He began his career in the Manpower Services Commission and worked for a number of years as an economist on labuor market and skills issues. Between December 1997 and September 2000 he was Head of the DfES Skills Unit and Secretary of the National Skills Task Force. Before joining the LSC in October 2006, John headed the Division in DfES responsible for lifelong learning strategy and HE and FE finance.

With a substanial background in further education, training and skills issues, he is well placed to work with all stakeholders to improve learning opportunities for young people, adults and employers in the Greater Manchester area.
