Apprentice star will shine at Greater Manchester learner awards
Michelle Dewberry, winner of ‘The Apprentice’ television programme is to present the Learning and Skills Council’s Greater Manchester Learner Awards.
The waiting is nearly over for the individuals nominated in the Greater Manchester Learner Awards 2007, as the glittering finale approaches.
The competition, organised by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), reaches its climax on Thursday 7 June 2007 at Manchester Town Hall when the winners of the five individual categories will be revealed and presented with an exclusively designed trophy and a cheque for £500.00.
Michelle Dewberry, winner of ‘The Apprentice’ television programme in 2006 will be the guest of honour, speaking to attendees about her experiences of tackling Sir Alan Sugar. Michelle will be presenting the awards and congratulating the winners on their successes.
The nominees from across Greater Manchester, vying for victory in the five individual awards, have already been short listed from hundreds of other learners.

Apprentice of the Year
Rebecca Doherty, 21, from Bolton
Sam Fishwick, 18, from Macclesfield
Christopher Taylor, 21, from Rochdale
Advanced Apprentice of the Year
Nuala Gaffney, 21, from Ashton-under-Lyne
Jenna Hart, 22, from Whelley, Wigan
Angela Rose, 20, from Waterhead, Oldham
The nominees will have a nerve-wracking wait, as the winners will be kept a closely guarded secret until the evening of the awards.

They aim to highlight the importance of learning and I am delighted we are able to celebrate the range of people who have excelled in learning and improved their lives.”
