Skills North West returns to Bolton Arena in February
Skills North West, the region’s largest interactive skills and careers event is returning to the North West on 9-11 February and it’s expected to be the biggest yet.
Over 14,000 young people from across the region have already signed up for the free three day event at Bolton Arena which is supported by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
The event will provide the opportunity for young people aged 14-19 to find out more about the different routes into training and employment and the chance to gain hands-on career experience, in a fun and interactive way.
Over 70 employers, colleges, training providers and universities will be exhibiting at the event, including; Army Careers, Royal Navy & Royal Marines, Royal Mail, GMPTE, United Utilities, Rathbone UK, Manchester City Council, PGL Travel Ltd, Myerscough College and the University of Bolton.
John Korzeniewski, Regional Director at the LSC in the North West, commented: “Even in the current economic climate, the response for this year’s event has been encouraging. It is an important date in our calendar and provides the perfect opportunity for young people to meet with employers, colleges and training providers to find out more about what they have to offer and to have a go at the interactive skills activities.
”With more young people than ever facing an uncertain employment future, it’s so important that they have access to high quality information about the options available to them when they leave school or college. Whatever their dream job or ambition may be, they can find out how to realise it at Skills North West.”
