Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
If you are a young person wanting to stay in learning and your household income is below a certain level, you could receive up to £30 a week to help with things like books, equipment and travel costs. Education Maintenance Allowance, EMA for short, is for young people studying at Sixth Form (school or college), Further Education college, on a programme led Apprenticeship (where you are not yet employed) or on an e2e programme.
