Train to Gain
Train to Gain is aimed at helping businesses get the training they need to stay ahead in a competitive business environment by improving the skills of the workforce. In the North West it has been developed as part of a wider effort by the Regional Skills Partnership to ensure that integrated skills and business support is available to employers.
A skills brokerage service jointly funded by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and the Regional Development Agency offers impartial advice and matches training needs to local providers of learning. Train to Gain ensures that flexible, responsive training programmes are delivered to meet employers’ needs. Some of the training may be eligible for full or partial subsidy.
A core element of Train to Gain is the offer of fully funded Skills for Life and first Level 2 National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs). Although open to all employers, Train to Gain is being aimed particularly at “hard to reach” companies such as those that have not taken up the Employer Training Pilot which has operated in the region since 2004 or that do not have Investors in People status.
Calling all Train to Gain Providers - World Class Skills Programme
World Class Skills is an LSIS-funded programme focused on supporting providers in becoming more responsive to the needs of employers, whatever your starting point. This is facilitated through the delivery of a number of workshops, seminars, consultancies and thematic projects. If you are a Train to Gain provider and would like more information please go to the website http://wcs.excellence.qia.org.uk or e-mail us direct at wcsenquiries@kpmg.co.uk.
