Learning and Skills Council
Marinos Paphitis, Regional
Director for the LSC South East
Welcome to the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) South East.
The LSC exists to make England better skilled and more competitive. We are responsible for planning and funding high-quality vocational education and training for everyone. Our single goal is to improve the skills of England’s young people and adults to world class standards.
The LSC South East comprises five local LSCs (listed on the right, under Regional contacts) and 20 partnership teams. Working together we aim to develop a responsive system of learning and skills provision that will meet the needs of learners, businesses and communities throughout the south-east and support the long term prosperity of our region.

The new website for the annual South East Learning and Skills Awards 2010 has now been launched. This is the fourth year providers are invited to make their nominations for outstanding learners and employers across the region.
These prestigious awards celebrate excellence in vocational education across the South East. They acknowledge the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations whose commitment to learning and skills can serve as an example and inspiration to everyone.
This year the celebration will take place on Thursday 20th May 2010 at Savill Court Hotel, Windsor Great Park, Surrey, and will be hosted by Sky News presenter Charlotte Hawkins.
The closing date for submitting nomination forms is Friday 26th February 2010 so please visit the Awards website and submit your nominations now!

We'd like to see as many competitors representing the south east as possible. To that end, funding is available to help providers or other organisations organise skills competitions. Find out more here.
