Our Culture
At the LSC, everyone is drawn together by a common purpose and a clear set of values. Our four values are:
Trust
The LSC has to be world-class at working in Partnership, so we believe that trust must be at the heart of everything we do. We expect it to run through our organisation: showing itself in individuals and the way everyone trusts each other to do their jobs well.
Expertise
We demonstrate expertise and true leadership in every aspect of our work. We fully understand the needs of the communities we serve, including employers and individuals in education and training. We believe everyone should show expertise in their job, whatever role they’re doing.
Ambition
We are ambitious for ourselves in the goals and objectives we set, but more importantly we are ambitious for the communities we serve, and for employers and individuals in education and training. The drive to develop yourself and help your colleagues reach their full potential too.
Urgency
We want to bring drive and urgency to the learning and skills sector, to tackle long standing issues swiftly and professionally and to be responsive and fast-moving. As a results-driven organisation, urgency has a vital place to ensure work progresses to schedule and is completed on time.
Our values set us apart and we have translated them into competency measures that apply to everyone, whatever their job, but become increasingly demanding as your level of responsibility grows. Join us and you can expect to be judged on how much you help us work together, how well you focus on performance, your ability to develop yourself and others, the extent to which you think things through, the results you achieve and your aptitude for working with change.
