nextstep promotes learning and work to all adults aged 20 and over. nextstep advisers can offer free face-to-face advice sessions. They have access to lots of information that is designed to help adults make decisions about their future.

Adult Learning Grant (ALG) is a means tested allowance of up to £30 per week offered to adults (19+) on low income and studying full time for a first full FE and LSC funded level 2 or level 3 qualification.

Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is a Government funded scheme which enables 16-19 year olds to stay in education by providing financial support. It is a ‘something for something’ agreement where young people who demonstrate a commitment to learning receive weekly and bonus payments
