Skills Pledge
Employers pledge their commitment to skills
The Skills Pledge was officially launched on 14 June 2007 by the Skills envoy Sir Digby Jones, many high profile employers were present and signed up to the pledge.
The Skills Pledge was one of the recommendations set out on the Leitch Report published back in December 2006 ‘World Class Skills’ and will be delivered by the LSC through Train to Gain.
Through the Skills Pledge, employers will commit to support their employees to ensure that their staff are skills competent and able to make a full contribution to the success of the organisation. As a minimum that means supporting all employees to develop their basic skills and work towards at least Level 2.
