Celebration of Learning and Skills Awards 2009
The Celebration of Learning and Skills (CoLaS) 2009 was a prestigious awards ceremony hosted by comedian and actor Lenny Henry that recognised and rewarded individual achievements and organisational commitment to learning and skills within the region.
For the second year running, CoLaS 2009 was Yorkshire and the Humber’s biggest showcase of learning excellence, highlighting achievements of both individuals and employers who are succeeding regardless of the gloomy economic climate.
The 12 awards showcased various skills and qualities and this year, seven of the award categories incorporate the regional heats of The Apprenticeship Awards of which 3 of our regional winners have gone on to be shortlisted for the National Apprenticeship Awards later this month.
The spotlight shone on Yorkshire and the Humber’s skills landscape as CoLaS 2009 lit up learning with a spectacular awards ceremony at the Harrogate International Centre on the 21st May, where shortlisted nominees joined more than 1,000 guests for an evening packed full of entertainment from the cream of Yorkshire and the Humber’s up and coming talent.
