The LSC exists to make England better skilled and more competitive.
We have a single goal: to improve the skills of England's young people and adults to make sure we have a workforce that is of world-class standards.
We are responsible for planning and funding high-quality vocational education and training for everyone.
Our vision is that by 2010, young people and adults in England have the knowledge and skills matching the best in the world and are part of a fiercely competitive workforce.
The LSC in Yorkshire and the Humber covers four local areas:

Approval means green light for new Leeds College
Leeds is on track to have one of the largest further education institutions in Europe following the formal approval of a new college for the city by the Secretary of State.
The approval officially confirms the merger of Leeds Thomas Danby, Leeds College of Technology and Park Lane College.
