Nationwide Opportunities at the LSC

The Learning and Skills Council helps people to learn new skills so that businesses in England can become more competitive. A career with us is a career that changes lives and influences the nation’s prosperity. It is a career that suits all sorts of people with excellent benefits and many opportunities to develop.

We have vacancies across our network of offices across England from administration to director level including contract management, learning, communications, marketing, finance and many more.

The Government is making changes to the way that post 16 education and skills (apart from Higher Education) are funded.  The proposed changes include a transfer of all of the LSC’s functions to new organisations, resulting in; an increased leadership role for local authorities in the commissioning of learning and skills in their areas; a new non-departmental public body for Young People’s Learning; an agency of the Department for Innovation Universities and Skills focusing on Skills funding and a dedicated service overseeing the commissioning and delivery of apprenticeships in England.

More details on the proposals and Government consultation are available from the white paper ‘Raising Expectations: enabling the system to deliver’

We've done our best to make the application process as fair and straightforward as possible. If you have any queries or problems, please don't hesitate to call our recruitment line on 02476 82 5800. Please note our opening hours are between 9am - 5pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 12 noon - 5pm Wednesday and 9am - 4:30pm Friday.
