Offenders' Learning and Skills Service (OLASS)
On 31 July 2006, the LSC took responsibility for offender learning and skills across England via OLASS. OLASS works to ensure that offenders have access to learning and skills to enable them to gain the skills and qualifications they need to enter employment.
The LSC will manage planning, funding and delivery of the new integrated Offenders' Learning and Skills Service (OLASS) across all nine English regions, having already had responsibility for three development regions in the north-west, north-east and south-west since 1 August 2005.
